Types of Corrections
Minor Corrections
For minor errors (typos, formatting issues, minor factual errors that don't change the meaning of the article), we make the correction without a formal correction notice.
Significant Corrections
For significant errors that materially affect the accuracy or meaning of an article, we:
- Add a correction notice at the top of the article
- Clearly state what was incorrect and what has been corrected
- Include the date of the correction
- Update the article's "Last Modified" date
Retractions
In rare cases where an article is found to be fundamentally flawed or based on incorrect information, we may retract it entirely. Retracted articles remain accessible with a clear retraction notice explaining why the article was withdrawn.
Update Policy
For developing stories, we update articles as new information becomes available. Updates are noted with:
- An "Updated" timestamp at the top of the article
- A brief description of what information was added
- The original publication date remains visible
Source Corrections
If a source we cited issues a correction or retraction, we update our article accordingly and note the source's correction in our coverage.
Reader Feedback
We value reader feedback and take all correction requests seriously. While we may not respond individually to every submission, we review all reports and appreciate your help in maintaining our accuracy standards.
